Washington, March 12 : Apple is reportedly planning to reboot its maps app for iOS 8 during its launch later this year.
The move is said to help the company be at par with Google and eventually become a superior mapping platform.
According to Mashable, Apple is working on a major maps overhaul for iOS by adding public transit directions and making key points of interest such as airports, highways, easier to find.
Meanwhile, the iOS 8 map will also include data obtained in the recent acquisitions of BroadMap, Embarkand.
