Genetically Modified Fashion :


Scientists have engineered silkworms to produce fluorescent fabrics.


Three groups of silkworms were genetically modified to create silk that glowed green, red, or orange under UV light. The silk needed to be processed differently than normal silk. The end product has all of the same properties as typical silk, though it is not quite as durable.
