Have you ever studied word problems. That is the practical application of that. But let me tell you one more thing. Every single thing in this universe has a different equation and method of form. To study those and to make a real universal knowledge we are studying the basic stuff. Otherwise how could a person make all these without considering the life and world. In fact, Math teaches you how to solve a problem more logically and I'm pretty sure that you dont need anything else in life if you know how to think logically and making a smart decision.. At the end, I would say that there is nothing good or bad, the people make it good or bad...
