Young Woman Steers Chennai’s First Metro Train..!!

The first train of the Chennai Metro Rail chugged along from Alandur Station in Chennai on Monday after being flagged off by Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa.

The first train which left at 12.15 p.m. from Alandur to Koyambedu was driven by A. Preethi, a 28-year-old diploma holder in engineering from Government Dharmambal Polytechnic College in Chennai.

The Chief Minister inaugurated it by flagging it off via live video from the State Secretariat in Chennai.

“I am excited, my daughter’s dream of becoming a loco pilot of Metro Rail has come true,” Preethi’s father R Anbu told PTI.

He explained how his daughter was chasing her dream of becoming a loco pilot after the metro rail project began taking shape.

“She quit her first job, applied for a job in Chennai Metro rail, and she was the first woman to get selected,” he said with joy.

“Three other women joined as pilots after her and I am happy that she was successful,” he said.

Preethi was trained for a year and half like others in Chennai and in Delhi for the purpose.

Meanwhile, the sprawling and swanky Alandur metro station, the biggest in Chennai, was brimming with activity, with enthusiastic passengers eager to board the first train.

“I wanted to board the first metro train, I hope metro makes travel easier and a pleasure,” said K Ramesh a young executive.

Nice...!!!

A crab was once running on sea shore and was admiring its beautiful footprints.. suddenly a huge wave splashed and washed away the footprints...

The crab said to the wave:
I considered u as one of my best friends, then what made u do this?

The wave replied:
A fisherman was following your footprints, that's why I cleared it off..

" Relationships mean caring beyond imagination". Value them & don't ever doubt the intentions.!!

Just Think Over This...!!

Would it be such a loss if I didn't read the newspaper at breakfast, And talked to my family instead.

Would it be such a loss if didn't check my mobile every 10 seconds, And paid attention to my partner instead.

Would it be such a loss if I didn't update each activity on Facebook,And updated my family about my day instead.

Would it be such a loss if I didn't spend late nights at work, And read bedtime stories to my children instead.

Would it be such a loss if I didn't attend a party, And had dinner at home with my parents instead.

Would it be such a loss if I didn't stay up late net surfing, And went for an early morning walk instead.

Would it be such a loss if I didn't work out in the gym today, And helped out with the housework instead.

Would it be such a loss if I didn't what's app my best friend on his birthday, And turned up on his doorstep with a cake instead.

Would it be such a loss if I did my colleague's work, And didn't care if he got the credit instead.

Would it be such a loss if didn't talk on the phone while crossing the road, And helped someone across instead.

Would it be such a loss if I didn't care how I looked, And cared how I behaved instead.

Would it be such a loss if I didn't do what I do each day, And lived life just the way it's meant to be...

Story Time..!!

Once a dog ran into a museum- where all the walls, the ceiling, the door and even the floor were made of mirror, seeing this the dog froze in surprise in the middle of the hall, a whole pack of dogs surrounded it from all sides, from above and below. Just in case, the dog bared his teeth -and all the reflections responded to it in the same way. Frightened, the dog frantically barked - the reflections imitated the bark and increased it many times.

The dog barked even harder and the echo was keeping up. The dog tossed from one side to another, biting the air - his reflections also tossed around snapping their teeth.

Next day in the morning the museum security guards found the miserable dog, lifeless and surrounded by a million reflections of lifeless dogs. There was nobody, who would make any harm to the dog. The dog died by fighting with his own reflections.

The world doesn't bring good or evil on its own. Everything that is happening around us is the reflection of our own thoughts, feelings, wishes and actions. The World is a big mirror. Strike a good pose.!!

Beautiful Lines..!!

''Alone I can 'Say' but together we can 'talk'.

'Alone I can 'Enjoy' but together we can 'Celebrate'.

'Alone I can 'Smile' but together we can 'Laugh'.

That's the BEAUTY of Human Relations.

We are nothing without each other..

Excellent Story.!!

A bus full of passengers was traveling while, suddenly the weather changed and there was a huge downpour and lightening all around.
They could see that the lightening would appear to come towards the bus and then go elsewhere.
After 2 or 3 horrible instances of being saved from lightening, the driver stopped the bus about fifty feet away from a tree and said -
"We have somebody in the bus whose death is a certainty today."
Because of that person everybody else will also get killed today.
Now listen carefully what I am saying ..
I want each person to come out of bus one by one and touch the tree trunk and come back.
Whom so ever death is certain will get caught up by the lightening and will die & everybody else will be saved".
They had to force the 1st person to go and touch the tree and come back.
He reluctantly got down from the bus and went and touched the tree.
His heart leaped with joy when nothing happened and he was still alive.
This continued for rest of the passengers who were all relieved when they touched the tree and nothing happened.
When the last passenger's turn came, everybody looked at him with accusing eyes.
That passenger was very afraid and reluctant since he was the only one left.
Everybody forced him to get down and go and touch the tree.
With a 100% fear of death in mind, the last passenger walked to the tree and touched it.
There was a huge sound of thunder and the lightening came down and hit the bus - yes the lightening hit the bus, and killed each and every passenger inside the bus.
It was because of the presence of this last passenger that, earlier, the entire bus was safe and the lightening could not strike the bus.

LIFE LEARNING from this.. At times, we try to take credit for our present achievements, but this could also be because of a person right next to us.
Look around you - Probably someone is there around you, in the form of Your Parents, Your Spouse, Your Children, Your Siblings, Your friends, neighbor, colleagues etc, who are saving you from harm..!
Think About it.. You will surely find that Person..!!

Awesome..!!

A little girl had been shopping with her Mom in Target. She must have been 6 years old, this beautiful red haired, freckle faced image of innocence. It was pouring outside. The kind of rain that gushes over the top of rain gutters, so much in a hurry to hit the earth it has no time to flow down the spout. We all stood there under the awning and just inside the door of the Target.

We waited, some patiently, others irritated because nature messed up their hurried day. I am always mesmerized by rainfall. I got lost in the sound and sight of the heavens washing away the dirt and dust of the world. Memories of running, splashing so carefree as a child came pouring in as a welcome reprieve from the worries of my day.

The little voice was so sweet as it broke the hypnotic trance we were all caught in, "Mom, let's run through the rain," she said. "What?" Mom asked.

"Let's run through the rain!" She repeated.
"No, honey. We'll wait until it slows down a bit," Mom replied.
This young child waited about another minute and repeated, "Mom, let's run through the rain."

"We'll get soaked if we do," Mom said.
"No, we won't, Mom. That's not what you said this morning," the young girl said as she tugged at her Mom's arm. "This morning? When did I say we could run through the rain and not get wet?"

"Don't you remember? When you were talking to Daddy about his cancer, you said, 'If God can get us through this, he can get us through anything!'"

The entire crowd stopped dead silent. I swear you couldn't hear anything but the rain. We all stood silently. No one came or left in the next few minutes. Mom paused and thought for a moment about what she would say. Now some would laugh it off and scold her for being silly. Some might even ignore what was said. But this was a moment of affirmation in a young child's life. A time when innocent trust can be nurtured so that it will bloom into faith.

"Honey, you are absolutely right. Let's run through the rain. If God let's us get wet, well maybe we just needed washing," Mom said.
Then off they ran. We all stood watching, smiling and laughing as they darted past the cars and yes, through the puddles. They held their shopping bags over their heads just in case. They got soaked. But they were followed by a few who screamed and laughed like children all the way to their cars. And yes, I did. I ran. I got wet. I needed washing.

Circumstances or people can take away your material possessions, they can take away your money, and they can take away your health. But no one can ever take away your precious memories... So, don't forget to make time and take opportunities to make memories everyday. To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven.

I hope you still take the time to run through the rain.

Worth Reading..!!

1) People come and go, even your closest of friends. They might even forget who you are after a while. Sometimes you just have to learn to let go.

2) Hard work, CORRECT practice and perseverance really makes you going places (There is no point of working hard if you are practicing the wrong things and expecting different results).

3) Often, your bad moments really expose who your true and false friends are. When you have discerned who your true friends are, treasure them. Itis better to have a few quality friends than a lot of superficial ones.

4) We tend to be very worried at what other people think of us although most of the time they are too busy running their own journey. Stop overthinking about what others think of you and just live your life happily.

5) There will always be people who criticize you no matter how hard you have worked. Ignore the haters and negative critics (not constructive critics, in fact their opinions are the ones you must listen to). You can never satisfy everyone around you in life, so as long as you have done your very best, that is all that matters.

6) No matter what mistakes you have made, your family will always be behind your back to support you. Cherish your time and moments with them.

7) Love. This is not necessarily in the romantic sense. Simply giving love to others around you (even those you hate) without expecting anything in return is a virtue, since love takes a lot of sacrifice and energy. Sure it will hurt at times, but to have never loved is simply to have never lived.

8) Follow your dreams, but have a balance between your passion and security.

Worth Reading..!!

When somebody told me that he has failed in his exams, my question is, "Is it a law that you will pass every time?"

When someone told me that my boyfriend broke up with me, my question is, "Is it a rule that you will have successful relationships everywhere?"

When somebody asked me why am I in depression, my question is, "Is it compulsory to have confidence all the time?"
When someone cried to me about his huge business loss due to his wrong decision, my question is, "Is it possible that you take all right decisions?"

The fact is our expectation that life has to be perfect/permanent is the biggest reason of our unhappiness.

One has to understand the law of impermanence of nature.
After each sunny day, there has to be a dark night, after each birth there have to be certain deaths, for the full moon to come again it has to pass through no moon. In this imperfection of nature, there is perfection.

So stop taking your failures and bad part of your life so personally or intensely, even God does not like to give you pain but its the cycle through which you have to pass. Prepare yourself for one more fight after each fall because even failures cannot be permanent...!

Enjoy life...

Health Is Wealth..!!

The day man dies, his money will still be in the bank or locker. When man is alive, he thinks he doesn’t have enough money to spend. When man passes away, there is still a lot of money in his bank account not spent.

A British tycoon passed away. He left for his widow 1 Billion Pounds in the bank. The widow remarried one of her husband’s young employees. The employee said, “All this while I thought I was working for my boss. I now realize that my boss was all the time working for me!”

Moral of the Story : It is more important to live longer than to have more wealth.
• Strive to have a strong and healthy body.
• In an expensive cell phone, 75% of the functions are useless.
• In an expensive car, 75% of the speed is not needed.
• In a big luxurious house, 75% of the space remains unoccupied or unutilized.
• In a whole wardrobe of clothes, 75% of them are rarely worn.
• Out of whole life’s earnings, 75% stays behind for other people to use.
• In every human being, 75% of the talent is not utilized So, how to make full use of our 25%?
• Go for medical check-up even when you feel fit.
• Drink more water even if you’re not thirsty.
• Let go your ego, whenever you can.
• Give in even if you are right.
• Be humble even if you are very powerful.
• Be contented even if you are not rich.
Have a Great Life !! Happy Father's Day...!!

An Inspiration To All..!!

In the image above is Shila Ghosh, an 87-year-old woman who lives in bally (Howrah) in West Bengal, a state in the eastern region of India and is the nation’s fourth-most populous.

Her only son had heart ailment and passed away a few months ago. To make ends meet, Shila now works. Every evening, Shila comes from Bally to Kolkata to sell chips.

When asked if she has a problem in travelling, she weakly smiled and said: “No, the bus gets me here and my health is not that bad”.

Circumstances could have easily forced her to beg but her dignity and respect is everything for her, she is determined to work until the end of her life rather than to beg on the streets.

When we go on complaining, let us remember her….. she chose to solve her problems on her own for as they say God helps them those who help themselves.

So True..!!!

Quote Of The Day..!!!

Very true because everyone is different  and special.

Story Time..!!

One fine day, a bus driver went to the bus garage, started his bus, and drove off along the route.

No problems for the first few stops-a few People got on, a few got off, and things went generally well.

At the next stop, however, a big hulk of a guy got on. Six feet eight, Built like a wrestler, arms hanging down to the ground.

He glared at the Driver and said, "Big John doesn't pay!" and sat down at the back.

Did I mention that the driver was five feet three, thin, and basically meek? Well, he was.

Naturally, he didn't argue with Big John, but he wasn't happy about it.

The next day the same thing happened-Big John got on again, made a show of refusing to pay, and sat down. And the next day, and the one after that, and so forth.

This grated on the bus driver, who started losing sleep over the way Big John was taking advantage of him.

Finally he could stand it no longer. He signed up for body building courses, karate, judo, and all that good stuff.

By the end of the summer, he had become quite strong; what's more, he felt really good about himself.

So on the next Monday, when Big John once again got on the bus and said, "Big John doesn't pay!" the driver stood up, glared back at the passenger, and screamed, "And why not??"

With a surprised look on his face, Big John replied, "Big John has a Bus pass."

Moral of the story: First be sure and pay more attention to source of problems before working hard to solve one.

ENJOY YOUR COFFEE..!!

Life is the Coffee – Inspirational Story..Must Read.

A Group of friends, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and assortment of cups – porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite – telling them to help themselves to the coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: “If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of problems and stress. Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups…..And then began envying each other’s cups.

Now consider this: “Life is the COFFEE; the jobs, money and position in the society are the CUPS. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, and the type of cup we have does not define, nor change the quality of Life we live. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee God has provided us”. God brews the coffee, not the cups.

NOTE: The happiest people don’t have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything. Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly.
