2) In the 17th century, the number pi was known to 35 decimal places. Today, to 1.2411 trillion.
3) In the great fire of London in 1666, half of London was burnt down but only 6 people were injured.
4) In Turkey during the 16th and 17th centuries, anyone caught drinking coffee was put to death.
5) It wasn't until 1913 that sports teams started using numbers on players' jerseys for identfication. It first happened during a football game between the University of Chicago and the University of Wisconsin.
