படித்ததில் பிடித்தது..!!

கவிஞர் கண்ணதாசன் ஒரு கல்லூரிக் கவியரங்கத்தில் கலந்துகொண்டு கவிதையை வாசிக்க ஆரம்பித்தார். அரங்கத்தில் உற்சாக ஆரவாரம் எழுந்தது.

அவர் கவிதை வாசிக்கும்போது ஒவ்வொரு வரிக்கும் பலத்த கைதட்டல் எழுந்தது. வாசித்து முடிந்ததும் கரவொலி அடங்க வெகு நேரம் பிடித்தது.

கைதட்டல்கள் முடிந்ததும், கண்ணதாசன் சொன்னார், ''இன்று நான் வாசித்த கவிதை நான் எழுதியது அல்ல. உங்கள் கல்லூரி மாணவர் ஒருவர் நேற்று ஒரு கவிதை எடுத்துக் கொண்டு வந்து என்னிடம் காண்பித்தார். அது மிக நன்றாக இருந்தது. எனவே நான் எழுதிய கவிதையை அவரை வாசிக்க சொல்லிவிட்டு, அவர் எழுதிய கவிதையை நான் வாசித்தேன்.

என் கவிதையை அவர் வாசிக்கும்போது எந்தவித ஆரவாரமும் இல்லை. அவர் எழுதிய கவிதையை நான் வாசித்தபோது பலத்த வரவேற்பு.

ஆக சொல்பவன் யார் என்பதைத்தான் உலகம் பார்க்கிறதே ஒழிய,சொல்லும் பொருளைப் பற்றிக் கவலைப்படுவதில்லை என்பதுதான் உண்மை என்று புரிகிறது.''

Me: "Was in friend's house."

In front of me, dad called 10 of my friends.

4 of them said: "Yes uncle, he was here".

2 said: "he just left, uncle".

3 of them said: "He is here only Uncle, studying. Shall I give him the phone?"

1 of them went an extra mile to say(in my voice) "Yes dad, tell me what happened? "!!!

The Ducks...!!

Three women die together in an accident and go to heaven.

When they get there, St. Peter says, "We only have one rule here in heaven: don't step on the ducks!"

So they enter heaven, and sure enough, there are ducks all over the place. It is almost impossible not to step on a duck, and although they try their best to avoid them, the first woman accidentally steps on one.

Along comes St. Peter with the ugliest man she ever saw.

St. Peter chains them together and says, "Your punishment for stepping on a duck is to spend eternity chained to this ugly man!"

The next day, the second woman accidentally steps on a duck and along comes St. Peter, who doesn't miss a thing. With him is another extremely ugly man. He chains them together with the same admonishment as for the first woman.

The third woman has observed all this and, not wanting to be chained for all eternity  to an ugly man, is very, VERY careful where she steps.

She manages to go months without stepping on any ducks, but one day St. Peter comes up  to her with the most handsome man she has ever laid eyes on ... very tall, long eyelashes, muscular, and thin.

St. Peter chains them together without saying a word. The happy woman says, "I wonder what I did to deserve being chained to you for all of eternity?"

The guy says, "I don't know about you, but I stepped on a duck!"

A young woman brings home her fiance to meet her parents. After dinner, her mother tells her father to find out more about the young man. The father invites the fiance to his study to find out more about him.

"So what are your plans?" the father asks.

"I am a bible scholar" the young man replies.

"A bible scholar, huh", the father says. "Admirable, but what will you do to provide a nice home for my daughter to live in, as she is used to having?"

The young man replies, "I will study & God will provide for us."

"And how will you buy her a beautiful engagement ring, which she deserves?" asks the father.

"I will concentrate on my studies & God will provide for us," replies the young man.

The conversation proceeds in this manner, which each question the father asks, the young man replies that God will provide.

Later, the mother asks, "How did the conversation go?"

The father answers, "He has no job & no plans, but the good news is that he thinks I am God."

I had spent an hour in the bank with my Uncle, as he had to transfer some money.  I couldn't resist myself & asked...

''Uncle, why don't we activate your internet banking?''

''Why would I do that?'' He asked...

''Well, then you wont have to spend an hour here for things like transfer. You can even do your shopping online. Everything will be so easy!'' I was so excited about initiating him into the world of Net banking.

He asked ''If I do that, I wont have to step out of the house?

''Yes, yes''! I said. I told him how even grocery can be delivered at door now and how amazon delivers everything..!

His answer left me tongue-tied.

He said ''Since I entered this bank today, I have met four of my friends, I have chatted a while with the staff who know me very well by now. You know I'm alone... this is the company that I need. I like to get ready and come to the bank. I have enough time, it is the physical touch that I crave. Two years back I got sick, The store owner  from whom I buy fruits, came to see me and sat by my bedside and cried. My wife fell down few days back while on her morning walk. My local grocer saw her and immediately got his car to rush her home as he knows where I live. Would I have that 'human' touch if everything became online? Why would I want everything delivered to me and force me to interact with just my computer? I like to know the person that I'm dealing with and not just the 'seller'. It creates bonds. Relationships. Does Amazon deliver all this as well?'''
